Tan Throw Pillow in Zero Dye Alpaca and Cotton

A zero-dye square in the heirloom pillow line, the Aalto Heirloom Throw Pillow comes in a 23" x 23" format with both the ivory ground and sepia grid lines drawn entirely from the raw alpaca fleece, woven in Peru. At 4.3 lbs with the insert, the pillow holds its position and its form through regular use.

The Vertical Rhythm

The asymmetric grid on the Aalto spaces its vertical lines closer together than the horizontal, producing a series of tall narrow rectangles that run the full height of the pillow. The vertical emphasis gives the pattern a columnar quality, the eye moving up through each rectangle rather than across the surface.

The ivory ground and sepia grid lines both come directly from the raw alpaca fleece with no dye applied, the sepia a naturally occurring tone in the alpaca's undyed color range.

The Fiber at This Weight

Superfine alpaca at 22.5 microns is graded from the finest fleece of each shearing, that fineness carrying through into the brushed surface of the finished pillow. Rest it against the side of the face, and the brushed alpaca surface meets the skin softly, the weight pressing in evenly. The undyed Peruvian cotton woven through the blend gives the construction its body, keeping the pillow's edges clean and the weave consistent through years of regular use.
