Their mission? To build a model for preserving the Amazons rainforests while teaching artisanship, woodworking skills, and sustainability practices to produce products where the value is added locally for the benefit of Amazon communities. These social and economic benefits bring environmental benefits when people learn to value the natural intact rainforests they live in, providing generations with an alternative to burning down the forest to raise cattle, one of the leading causes of deforestation in the Amazon.
